Golf is no longer for old men with large expense accounts and even larger beer bellies. Golfing is chic! It's trendy! And yes even women play. Plus golfing makes for a great first date.
Miniature golf can be a fun and cute way to introduce a new date to golf. It’s a unique alternative to the traditional dinner-and-a-movie combo, and a great way to get to know your date. Does the person get mad after every shot? Do they take forever before putting? A person’s behavior on the golf course can reveal a lot about how they are in real life.
Of course, experienced golfers will want to enjoy something a little more advanced in the long run. But men and women golf differently and it’s important to take some of those differences into account.
On average, most women are physically smaller than men as we all know. Which means to even out the playing field, women have to hit from shorter tees and use more strokes. Women in general have slower and wider swings than most men, and consequently need a wee bit more help getting the ball airborne. Golf balls meant for women are created to produce higher shots and are more responsive for slower swingers.
Now if your partner is a little too slow, don’t admonish them unless you want to turn them off from golf forever. Many new golfers don’t realize they would score better if they dawdled less and hit more. Try suggesting a time limit as an experiment the next time you hit the green and make it a challenge. Your partner will be faster and you can breathe more easily knowing the game isn’t moving at a turtle’s pace. |
