Single parent dating
Just because you’re a single parent, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have some fun too. Here are the best of our single dating tips.
1. Join a single parent dating site.
OK, so we’re a little biased on this one, but it can be one of the easiest ways to meet other single parents! A single parent dating site is one of the best ways to meet fellow single parents, (not that you should write off those without kids!), unlike let’s say at the park where the Mr. or Mrs. might be just around the corner.
2. Lighten Up!
So you’re a little nervous because the last time you went on a date, it was 1872. That doesn’t mean you still don’t have what it takes. Even if you’re nervous, you still have to accept your fear and step out on a limb. If you were able to overcome sick children and paying the bills, a little date is nothing!
3. Stop judging yourself
So your baby mama/daddy left you. So what? That doesn’t mean anything. Their reasons for leaving are their own and you can’t hold it against yourself forever. You’re worth a lot more than that person was ready and willing to give you. Make a list of reasons that you would want to go out with yourself. You’ll find more reasons than you think.
4. Make time to date
Yes you have a kid. But just because you’re a single parentthat’s not an excuse to not make time for someone else in your life. You might have a busy schedule, but the right person will understand that you have commitments to your child.
5. Don’t discount non-parents
You’re not just a parent. Your life is not just about play dates or watching Saturday morning cartoons. You’re your own person with your own thoughts, desires, and feelings. Just because you have kids doesn’t mean you can’t relate to someone who doesn’t. So broaden your horizons, and keep your eyes wide open.
